About Me

My photo
I retired on March 11th 2014 after 26 years as a doctors receptionist. I am now looking forward to the freedom to enjoy my days doing anything I wish to. Spending time with family, catching up with friends. Playing in my Scrappy Shack, scrapbooking, cardmaking, art journalling, quilting, gardening, baking. Spending wonderful times with my beloved other half. I am so looking forward to this time in my life.

My Scrappy Shack is Painted

This is my lovely grandaughter, painting the door of my shed. My husband was painting the outside and Jaz wanted to help, so she got to do the inside of the door.
I didn't get a photo of the finished door as yet, but she did a great job.

Here she is wearing:
Overall by Ralph White..lol
Shoes by Slippers&Co.
Gloves by Blue4Hue

She had great fun sorting out my coloured cardstock into colours/shades/textures.
I had even more fun watching her;)

WOYWW

This is my table this morning, a card making session with my gorgeous granddaughter's.
They were making thank you cards for the ladies at the local library. I joined Emily and Jessica a few weeks ago and they won some cinema tickets.  We went to see "Cat's and Dog's" last night and we had a good time. So today was booked as a crafting day a week or so ago, and thank you cards were the order of the day.  We are going to be doing ATC's as soon as I have finished here.  I love that they enjoy papercrafting.

My Scrappy Shack is now ready for playing in so hopefully I will be sharing more often on WOYWW.

WOYWW

This is me trying to get my stuff together for the
Crabapple Scrapbook Retreat with the lovely Rosemary Merry
the weekend of 16th to 18th July at The Forest Hills Hotel in Frodsham.
I have never done a weekend of scrapbooking, away from home.
It is usally just one day crops that I attend.
So I am not sure how much of the basic supplies to take.
How much glue for instance?

Anyone out there got any tips?
There will be a Pyjama Party on the Saturday night
with scrapping until 2am!!

I do not want to be taking too much stuff, as I do going on holiday.
So any hints on how you can travel light with scrapbook supplies
would be very gratefully received.
What a stupid request?
Travel light with beautiful papers,
embellishments, photo's, inks, scissors, paper trimmers.....

I am sure there are some good idea's out there, please?

Crappy Not Scrappy Time

I have been having a crappy time lately wish it was a scrappy time but it wasn't.
I will be making a concerted effort to get down and dirty this coming week.

WOYWW

I know this isn't the usual photo expected on WOYWW.
But I am very happy with it, because it means my Scrappy Shack is ready for me to start playing.
I only discovered WOYWW about six weeks ago, when I was in the throes of getting my play area furnished. Therefore I have not created anything for the FABULOUS one year anniversary of WOYWW.
But I do lovely this empty space I now have, it will be very different next week.

Congratulation's Julia on an amazing phenomenon, you really have started something!!

Stamp Drawers

As part of the stocking of my new shed, my stamps are now back in their drawers and are settling nicely thank you:)

Four of the drawers are three levels of stamps deep, the Christmas drawer is a little empty as there at least one more box of stamps somewhere, I think the may still be in storage. I haven't been stamping for a couple of years, but when I  get back, from holiday, I will be like "a pig in muck "as they say. I am really looking forward to getting going again.

WOYWW

These little beauties came through my letterbox this morning.
I found Lavina Stamps as I was on my way out of the Stamp Festival on Saturday.
I fell for them straight away. Unfortunately I had no cash left and they did'n't take cards.
But the very kind young lady took my phone number and rang me yesterday, took my card details and
Hey Presto they arrived with a little fairy dust this morning. So this is my offering for WOYWW.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will be able to show some cards with these images on them:)
I wish it could be sooner but we are off on holiday on Sunday for a fortnight....

Goodies Part Two

My first Cosmic experience in coming.
Thanks to Jo at Jozart and her friendly demo's
on Saturday.  Watch this space..

My Best friend Trish has been raving about Claritystamps for a while, Barbara Gray was demonstrating at Port Sunlight on Saturday and I am now hooked. She has made me look at stamping in a whole new way.

Mr Holtz was everywhere on
Saturday and I had to buy something...zzzz

Trish bought me the red suitcase along with a purple one, not yet photographed.  They are gorgeous and hold a lot of goodies. The wooden box is one of two, bought on Saturday. we have on each and we now have a project.  We are to decorate and fill the box and the project is called
 "A Box Full of Love"
Again, Watch this space.

I really cannot wait to get playing.

Goodies From Happy Stampers Festival

My Best friend Trish and i had a great day out yesterday at Port Sunight's Hulme Hall at a stamp festival organised by http://happystampersnorthwest.co.uk/default.aspx

This is a twice a year occassion and it is always a very enjoyable occassion. This was Trish's first time and she lovled it as much as me.  We spent too much, laughed a lot, learnt much and basically had
A FaBuLouS Day!!

Here are some photo's of some of my goodies:

Fabulous Rubber Stamps from Hero Arts  and Crafty Individuals.

I love these Clings by Hero Arts

Can't wait to start playing with them.

The cards I saw, made with these stamps were wonderful, I especailly loved the tree's. (I have a lot of  tree stamps)

I have seen this brand of stamps in craft magazines but never owned any, more playing and experimenting needed.

Of course I had to have a bit of Mr Holtz, ended up with more than I planned though. All due to Jo who was demonstrating for StampAttack

We had a great time, our feet and our purses had a bit of a grumble at the end of the day, but it is great to come back home with some fresh ideas.  There is more, but I will save that for another day.  My main priorty today is finding space for my new goodies in my shack:o)

A Work in Progress

It is taking longer than I thought to sort through all my "Stuff"
But I'm getting there slowly.

Tuesday 20 April 2010

Decanting from the Old to the New

We have been busy decanting ALL MY STUFF from my old craft shed to my new Scrappy Shack.
It is taking longer than expected and I have to send quite a lot of MY STUFF to new homes.
It is well known that scrapbooker's/crafter's are Magpies...I have been a Very Greedy Magpie!!

So there are bag's and boxes of MY STUFF going to , granddaughter's (with daughter's consent hopefully)
and Rainbow's and Brownies.

Trouble is I went to COSTCO for the first time in years on Saturday and spent £79 on more scrapbooking STUFF!!    I think I need treatment....

Now that I am working part time I hope to be in my element for at least an hour a day, it will probably run into three hours but I really need to be getting down to having paper pleasure daily.

There will be photo's soon, I would love to have a photo spread similar to those in Studio magazines, but this is real life so we shall see......

My New Scraping Shack

A Ten by Eight Shed is transformed into my Scrapbooking Haven.
It has been insulated, flooring put down, bookcases and desk installed.

Tomorrow the electric's will be completed, a new shelving unit from IKEA will be put in position and then I will have to be ruthless with my stash of crafting stuff. Everything MUST have a home in this room, I am not going to have a craft STOREROOM again.

I believe a ton of stuff will be given away to grandchildren and their schools and clubs. I have not been able to do any scrapbooking for such a long while because of the lack of space.  I am determined there will be space to work and create in this new room.

So watch this space, let the fun begin....
